She will always be my little girl.

When a bride and her a Dad go out for their dance it is always a very emotional feeling for all of the family. The relationship Cara had with her Dad was very fun loving and at the end of the dance when he dipped her back, the squeal of joy and the smile that lit up her face was priceless.

Even a wildman has his soft side

I remember my first meeting with Gina and Shawn, they informed me that Shawn and his groomsmen were a wild bunch, and they did not let me down. The guys even got in some slam dancing at the reception. But this image just really captures the gentleness he had with Gina.

The excitement is mutual

I have to say, I love it when couples are excited to have me as their photographer, because the feeling is mutual. I feel very lucky to be trusted with such an important part of their wedding. They want to share all of the details with me. They come to me with picures of their flowers and their gown, etc. It really gives me a feel for who they are.

Lately I have had several brides tell me that their Mothers have been brought to tears, looking at the images on the web, because they felt they could relate to the people in those images. Now while it is not my goal to make people cry:) well maybe happy tears. I am glad we have captured these images for our couples that truly represent the day. I love when they tell me that they can remember that moment and how they felt at that time. I think that is awesome.

Funny thing is I can remember what I was thinking when I caught the shot. You see being a wedding photographer is a very emotional profession. If we were not emotional and passionate about what we do, it would be a great disappointment to our couples.

The next post will be of several of our couples favorite images and what made me capture them.

Where does the time go?

As spring is quickly approaching, it is hard to image where the past several month have gone.

I have been extremely busy meeting with couples for the up coming year. I am very excited for the wedding season to get into full swing. I have  so many wonderful couples that I will be working with, in some amazing locations.

Several very talented second shooters will be working with me this year also, in addition to Rhonda and Shane. Who have been working with me the last several years. I feel very blessed that these creative  photographers want to work under me.

For now I am looking forward to warmer weather as I am sure we all are. They say in Spring LOVE is in the air, I'll be there ready to capture it.

Snow Days Are Wonderful

If you are fortunate enough to be in an area that recieves a great deal of snow, you could relate to this. Today is the first day that we have been blessed with significant snowfall. My daughter is off of work and we are doing one of our favorite things, baking cookies for Christmas gifts.

The fire is burning, the house smells wonderful and life is good. It seems like it is natures way of telling you to slow down and breathe.

Of course if I had a reason of importance to get out, such as wedding, I would find away, but I do not, so I am finally starting my blog.

Please watch in the future for postings.
